Current name: Buliminus (Napaeus) alboreflexus Ancey, 1882
Classification: Gastropoda : Stylommatophora : Enoidea : Enidae
Type Status: Syntype(s) [Verified - Harriet Wood ]
Collection: Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, Cardiff (Melvill-Tomlin)
Catalogue No.: NMW.1955.158.24097
No. specimens: 2 sh (Dry)
Type Locality: Prope Inkiapo (‘Chine Centrale’ in the title) [Cl A. David]. [Central China]
Collecting details: "A. David"; C. M. F. Ancey (1919)
Notes
Remarks: Ancey (1906: 14-15) quoted an earlier reference for this name, ‘Naturaliste 1882, p.12’. This is an error as there is no mention of alboreflexus on page 12. Type evidence: The NMW lot has a Tomlin ex Ancey 1919 label, A. David’s Inkiapo label and a probable Ancey type label. There is another label with Chine Centrale written on it that could also be A. David’s, but we are unsure. There are two specimens, one rather juvenile, which we consider to be syntypes. The larger of the two closely matches measurements given in the paper. The Geret sales list confirms that types of this species were sold to Tomlin from Ancey’s collection.
