No. specimens: 1 sh (Dry)
Type Locality: Cherat, Afghanistan [Afghanistan]
Collecting details: C. M. F. Ancey (1919); P. Geret
Notes
Type evidence: The NMW specimen has a Geret label bearing the type locality. Tomlin wrote that it is ex Ancey, which is confirmed on Geret’s sales list. There is a specimen of similar status at RBINS which has Dautzenberg and Ancey labels and is from the type locality, but neither lot have type on the label. Other material: Possible type:- RBINS.10591 1 spec. It should be noted that Ancey does actually refer to a type specimen in his publication when he writes [translated]: “This type possesses 8 and a half turns and is indicated as deeply perforated.” The NMW spec. has 8 turns and the RBINS spec. has 7 turns. I am inclined to list the NMW specimen as a possible holotype rather than a possible syntype as in Wood & Gallichan, 2008.
