Type evidence: The NMW specimens are from Melvill’s collection and were collected by A. Abercrombie from the type locality of Bombay. The figured specimen is held at NHMUK. Other type material: Figured syntype:- NHMUK 1893.2.16.12 1 spec. Syntype:- NHMUK 1878.1.28.235 1 spec. Syntypes:- Manchester Museum EE.7795 2 spec. Nomen nudem citation: The name was first published without description in a slightly earlier paper by Melvill & Abercrombie, 1893: 31.
