Notes
[Additional notes from lists held by LIVCM.] Engina purpureocincta Preston Ceylon (Co - type) [pencil annotations] X [and] 311/I. Preston's hand according to N. F. McMillan on 30.11.1988. Verdcourt in a letter of 14.3.1990 states that most of Preston's types are in the museum at Tervueren but N. F McMillan states correctly in 3.8.1988 that no holotypes were designated. Schouteden's paper on Preston types only refers to African material and thus there is no valid lectotype designation. (Note by Ian Wallace 12.10.2004).
