Notes
Melvill & Ponsonby, 1895 clearly state that this shell is unique in the original description, it is therefore the holotype - "The label attached to the specimen, now unique, in the Owens College Museum, Manchester, is as follows:- "Bulimus. G. C. Churchill, Esq. Port Natal."" It should be noted that the note referred to above is no longer with the specimen. There is only a loose Melvill label and the label in the mouth of the shell which reads "Bulimus? Zulu Country" and on this is an E. Coll Cholmondeley label.
