Notes
Melvill, 1888 states "The specimen in the plate is in Coll. Mus., Owens College, Manchester, formerly in that of Mr. Reginald Cholmondeley, of Condover Hall, near Shrewsbury", however, this does not exclude the possibility of him having other specimens at hand whilst writing the description. Both Trew, 1987 and McGhie, 2008 listed this specimen as a holotype; in accordance with ICZN Art. 74.6 this is an indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype (Trew, 1987: 56). The Manchester specimen has a 'type' label written on it by Melvill.
