Coan & Kabat, 2012 state: NHMUK 1966548, 2 syntypes (two valves that do not match; Leeds Museum 1957.173.173, one syntype. Hanley, 1844 gave the size of this species as 3 inches by 1.7 inch which is somewhat larger than any of these syntypes. Leeds lot has no original Hanley label and no locality mentioned or type. There is no reference to this lot in Hanley's handwritten catalogue.
