Notes
MUSSELp database states that there is a holotype lot for turgidus at USNM (84277). That specimen is from New Orleans and collected by the correct collector. However, there is no reference to a single type specimen in the original description, so it must be considered a syntype. As the Leeds specimen is from the broad type locality and potentially from Lea (some Lea material was sent to Hanley of other species), this is considered a possible syntype. If the label with the lot can be confirmed as Lea's handwriting, this would add more weight to this.
