Coan & Kabat, 2012 state: NHMUK 1966536, two syntypes, possibly that figured in fig. 151; Leeds Museum 1957.173.24643, possible syntype. Leeds specimen does not have a Hanley label although there is evidence that there was once one attached. The species is mentioned in Hanley's handwritten catalogue although there is no mention of a type specimen. The modern label with the specimen (unidentified) queries this as a Hanley type.
