Coan & Kabat, 2012 state: Hanley's species dates from the publication of Hanley's 1846 plate explanation. Leeds Museum 1957.173.25821, 2 possible syntypes. Leeds material has Hanley labels, no type mentioned, no mention of locality. Note beside species name in Hanley's handwritten catalogue states: 'T. (F.) fig. in R. B. and Sow. Th'. There are two modern labels querying the specimens as types.
