Notes
Harasewych et al. 2007 state that Maynard did not base his description on one specimen, and therefore that all material examined can be classed as part of a syntype series (1272 specimens in total). They go on to designate a lectotype lot, USNM 420009 and to state that all of the other specimens can be considered paralectotypes including MCZ 76168, MCZ 76324, MCZ 118205, USNM 1093790, and now also the Leeds specimens. For detailed notes on the figures in the original citation, see Harasewych et al., 2007: 489. Leeds material is from the type locality, ex. Crowley, and the Leeds database states that it is also ex Maynard. Label states that they are ex. Salisbury collection which holds some of Maynard's collection. There is an original label from Tomlin stating that the specimens are paratypes, Crowley's label reiterates this.
