Notes
Eight specimens were observed by Tomlin in his 1940 paper, McMillan then refers to seven syntypes in 1985. A lectotype was designated by Adam, 1976 who notes (translation from French) "the eighth syntype belongs to an unknown species". He lists the measurements for all of the type series and figures the lectotype. The specimens have been separated accordingly in the box with the final unknown species labelled as Nassarius sp (not N. argenteus). Although this specimen is thought to be a different species, it still remains part of the type series.
