Notes
Original description does not list a type locality or make reference to a 'type' or one unique specimen. Tomlin, 1940 listed this specimen with the comment '(one)'. There is no illustration or measurements in the original description. The description talks of "This shell.." but Ian Wallace (note 9.10.2004) has taken the view that this cannot be taken as certainly meaning there was only one specimen and that McMillan's 1985 designation should be regarded as erecting a lectotype. Cernohorsky, 1984 states that the holotype of N. bella is in Liverpool (he figures the specimen and gives measurements: length 12.3 mm). As this pre-dates MacMillan, he must take the credit for designating this as a figured lectotype.
