Notes
The original description does not give an indication of the number of specimens. There are three type lots in the Liverpool material, Tomlin only saw one of them when reviewing the material in 1940. McMillan 1985, states "Three lots (a total of eight shells) all labelled by Marrat as fraudulenta. The original illustration is not accurate enough to identify any one specimen. Cernohorsky, 1984 states: "the types...consist of lots A, B, C. Two specimens each in lot A and B are fraudulentus as described and illustrated by the author, but lot C contains also N. sinusigerus (Adams, 1852). The syntype from lot B, length 9.7 mm, width 5.4 mm is here designated as the lectotype". There is one specimen (from one of the boxes of 2) that matches these measurements and the figure. The remaining specimen in that box is a paralectotype. Currently all of the lots are under one number, so we have treated them as part of the type series, they are paralectotypes.
