Illustration in Thesaurus Conchyliorum is same size as specimen but specimen is faded and difficult to tell if pattern matches. Marrat handwritten label 'O. arctata Mar China Sea'. Note in Tomlin's handwriting states 'Obviously the young of O. pacifica, and the shells came from exactly the same source.' Ford 1953 first mention of Holotype.
