Specimen matches fig 26 in Thesaurus Conchyliorum. Label from Marrat's label list 'OLIVA Jamaicensis, Marrat Jamaica'. Label in Tomlin's writing 'Type of jamaicensis M. another of these colour vars of reticularis Lam'. Ford 1953 first mention of Holotype.
