Notes
Wood & Gallichan, 2008: Type material: Syntype:- ‘Type’ NMW.1955.158.24094 1 spec. (e) Type locality: Andrahomana [Sikora] (‘Madagascar’ in the title) Remarks: Fischer-Piette et al. (1993: 111) synonomised this name under Tropidophora (Ligatella) carnicolor Fulton, 1902. He stated that Fulton’s description was published in April and Ancey’s was published in November of the same year. The type locality for Fulton’s type material is Madagascar Sud, Fort-Dauphin (BMNH). Type evidence: The NMW specimen has an Ancey type label from the type locality with ‘F. Sikora, 1899’ as the collector and year. Geret’s sales list confirms a single type went to Tomlin. Ancey (1902d: 81) did not imply a unique type in his original description.
