Notes
Wood & Gallichan, 2008: Type material: Syntype:- ‘Syntype’ MNHN.9656 1 spec. (ne); Possible Syntypes:- NMW.1955.158.24152 2 spec. (e); Type locality: I. Poulo-Condor (Basse-Cochinchine) [H. Counillon] Remarks: Fischer-Piette (1950b: 167) listed Bavay & Dautzenberg (1899: 51) as the original reference and suggested it was an Ancey manuscript name. This is incorrect as Ancey gave a full description in his 1898 paper. Type evidence: Ancey (1898a: 139) did not indicate a unique type in his description. The NMW lot has a label with the genus and type locality on but we are unsure of the writing (perhaps Counillon?). Ancey has later written on the species and his name. Geret’s sales list confirms two specimens from Ancey’s collection went to Tomlin. Both NMW specimens are slightly larger than the measurements listed in the paper. Fischer-Piette (1950b: 167) suggested there is a holotype but this is erroneous.
