Notes
Broderip described this species from a shell in the collection of John Adamson of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1836. The Adamson collection, including this shell, was auctioned at a Stevens sale in February 1848 (Dance, 1969). The label in the mouth of the shell, which cannot be scanned, reads: “Rhododendron formerly Adamsoni. The original specimen from his collection.”
